Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By purchasing, downloading, or using LocalKin ("the Software"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.

2. License Grant

Upon purchase, you are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual license to use the Software on devices you own or control, subject to the edition purchased:

• —LocalKin Core (v1.0.0) — Licensed for personal and commercial use.
• —Pioneer Edition (v1.0.0) — Licensed for personal and commercial use, including robot and IoT deployments.
• —Mustard Edition (unreleased) — Licensed for personal and commercial use, including all Pioneer features plus the Genesis Protocol for self-bootstrapping robot deployments. Available upon release.

3. Restrictions

You may not:

• —Redistribute, sublicense, or resell the Software or license keys.
• —Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software binary.
• —Share your license key publicly or with unauthorized third parties.
• —Use the Software to build a competing product that repackages its core functionality.

4. Ownership

The Software is proprietary. All rights, title, and intellectual property remain with LocalKin ("we", "us"). Your purchase grants a license to use the Software, not ownership of it.

5. Delivery

The Software is delivered digitally. After purchase, you receive a license key via email. You download the Software through localkin.dev using your license key. No physical goods are shipped.

6. Updates

Your license entitles you to all updates within the major version of your purchased edition (e.g., Core v1.x, Pioneer v1.x). Future major versions may require a separate purchase.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Software is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Software will be error-free or uninterrupted.

9. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall LocalKin be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use the Software. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Software.

10. Termination

We may terminate your license if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, you must cease all use and delete all copies of the Software. Sections 4, 8, 9, and 11 survive termination.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which LocalKin operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect when posted to this page. Continued use of the Software after changes constitutes acceptance.
